“A Summer in Wonderland” di Francesca Ghermandi

3–31 July 2024 – MIC – Museum of Contemporary Illustration

The central theme of the exhibition “A Summer in Wonderland” is the artist’s unique approach to the concept of holidays, understood as an exploration of worlds that constantly straddle the boundary between reality and the imagination.

Francesca Ghermandi, from Bologna, is one of the leading figures in Italian comics and illustration. Since the mid-1980s, his work has been published in magazines such as Frigidaire, Echo des Savanes, Linus and Internazionale. She has also been active in the field of animation for some time – she created, amongst other things, the opening sequence for the 2006 Venice Film Biennale.

On display are original prints and drawings, including the imaginative map of Grottammare created this year as part of “The World of Drawing”.
